Re: TankWhore: The Movie by PlaneWhore

I haven't seen your video yet but as people have described what is in it, You are most likelly playing like I have latelly started to do. I try to keep my distance and keep shooting suppressing fire to support own attacking infantry. I always shoot a shell to every corridor or any suspicious area becore passing it. I don't go near flags while own team is capping it, I try to keep back and guard and cover players taking the flag.

My favourite map to use a tank effectively is Road to Jalalabad. First MEC flag is so far away from the ridged between MEC and USMC base that with it's hard to use AT effectively without getting killed if tank is parked on the ridge. Also visibility is guite good , there are not too many obstacles disturbing aiming.

I'm not too good with armor and I dont't play it often but following thins I have learned:

Basic point in surviving as a tanker is to keep moving and to keep distance. Confined areas and flag capping with a tank is a guaranteed suicide. There is always a fellow with C4 or mine. In maps where attack helos and jets are present, I usually don'tenter to a tank without force (except AA tank).

When I notice spawn raping tank I just switch my spawn point to other nearby and select suitable kit to overcome this threat. Most usually I try to sneek behind it and place mine or C4. Mines are better because you can land them on the entry way if rapeist is trying to renew his trick.

For the champ asking PW for J10 raping video, theres one called "PlaneWhore Part Deux", probably on video.google.com.

LOL, truly amusing. PW is probably the most hardworking guy Ive ever seen trying to prove a point or himself (in an entertaining way, no less).

It's also my favorite "camping" spot on Mashtuur and you get a lot of interesting Mashtuur specific camping tips. It also may be slightly entertaining.
          Enjoy.
I finally got to see your video. Since you made it public, I supposed you are expecting a review from us, to let you know if we've enjoyed it or not.
I don't want to be misunderstood, so I'll say before hand this is my honest opinion and it's not an ironical or ill intended comment in any way.
If somebody expect me to spout more retardation, he'll be disappointed and could as well stop reading at this point.
This is not a 'kissing a*s' review, either. So read on, if you keep an open mind about it:

          I was really impressed!
You are simply the most efficient killing machine I have ever seen in this game.
Perhaps only in a plane you could best yourself playing in a tank.
I wouldn't say the other team was a weak adversary, either, since they tried their best.
It was fun for me to watch those rockets on the receiving end.
They lost because they lacked the strategy of capturing flags or probably they had an inexperienced commander. If a couple of AT players would have kept your tank busy, while the rest of their team would have taken care of the flags, the outcome of the fight could have been different. Your team was also good (as far as I could see from the movie), ensuring with your huge help, their defeat.
I should say from my experience in a tank that killing is easier and safer from a distance.
That distance saved your gunner's life better than a squad full of medics.
Retreating for repairs is also the best tactic ensuring survival in a tank (especially with you and your gunner as engineers, for speedy repairs).
If you don't mind, I'll say your style of play is totally different than mine.
Since I don't play for points (I stopped doing that a long time ago), I don't really care if I die more often. I am more focused on objectives, than on killing.
For instance, if I have the mission to repair an asset, I'll do that, rather than trying to kill a target farther away. Sure, if I'm attacked, I'll kill first, but then I'll return to my original job.
Perhaps my problem is that I like too much excitement in my game play. I'll get bored real quick just to stay in a tank and kill people all day.
It's not unusual to leave the tank to a teammate and find something else to do.
My hobby is to destroy vehicles. I never get bored doing that. It doesn't matter the type of the vehicle. If it's 'red', I feel the need to destroy it. You could say I'm an anti vehicle whore.
          In the end:
I could guess why you made this video now. If you're not mad at me, I'll be happy to take a shot at you on the battlefield and to offer me as a practice target.
I give you a warning, though: I'll play for fun.
Yes, your tank sure looks like a nice, fat and juicy target for someone like me, but I know it could take 2 or 3 clones of myself, to be able to scare your tank away.

            Thanks...I watched it.

I had a similar round on Mashtuur, in the exact same spot. Fortunately, I had a commander who kept a crate behind me the entire time. After a while people were killing my gunner just to get in for the assists.

I wasn't able to last as long as you did, because after 30+ kills, I started getting hit with more and more AT rockets.

I ended up with more than 40 kills in the tank. IMO, an acceptable tactic to suppress the enemy and contain them. There are too many ways to escape the tank fire, and too many chose not to.

            My 2 cents

I was thinking about that too

I would like to see a skilled player play as infantry for a round or so

not like most frag movies which only have the most amazing kills
