Lost my BF2 key! Any ideas how to get it again?

I was a muppet and unistalled BF2 to re-install it in the hope it would rectify some problems I was having.

However upon starting the installation it asked for my key which upon looking in my box the manual had gone missing with my key in it!!!!!! :cry:

Any help / links appreciated!

No fix without the manual. Key is now encryped on the drive. You have to go back to EA support to fix.

Just contact ea, they'll ask you to send them a disc or some proof of ownership (you'll get it back) and you'll be able to buy a new key for 10 bucks. It costs money, but is still cheaper than a new copy.

Have just emailed EA (UK) support so am holding out for some good news though I doubt it will come free ah well, will just have to keep looking for it I suppose

Log in and click on your name, then click on My Account and it will take you to a paage were you can see all the cd-keys for any EA game you own (as long as you registered it).

If nothing else works, I would check eBay and Amazon.com for used copies of BF2. Not sure what their going for now days, but it would definatly be cheaper than a brand new one.

And probably end up with a copy that has been GUID/cd-key banned. :laugh:

Discount retailer in England we in the US have Target or Walmart. Tesco I guess.

when was the last time u installed bf2? if u can system restore to when u first installed bf2 (version 1.0) u can find ur cd key in ur registry...and the key wont be encrypted cuz they didnt start encrypting the keys until like patch 1.12

Seriously, Install game-->Put Manual in box-->Close Box--->Put box on shelf. I have no idea how people loose CD-Keys.

You can also save your key info & restore it by:

Start > Run > regedit - export the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Electronic Arts\EA Core\Staging\eagames\BF2-2006\online_content\bf2-patch-1_4_full\ergc

Import via regedit to restore the original key you lost, used to work for bf1942
