    Project reality mod is superb!

Good experience with POE2 encouraged me to get familiar with other mods too. Yesterday I installed PRMM and tested it a couple of rounds. WTF, why people are still playing mostly only vBF2 when this good alternatives are available. Those two rounds were among the best I've played in a long time. Can't wait to advertise this to my friends and get our squad together playing this mod

PRMM is not too bad. I don't care for some of the things they did such as the removal of crosshairs and lack of a health bar.

Realism? Hardly, those are tools to give you awarness that you would have in the field of combat. If wounded... you would have an idea of how bad it is and thus you would have a general idea of your health.

Crosshairs? Same thing different monster. The crosshairs simulate where your weapon is pointing and how much accuracy you have at the time. Ironsights are a nice touch but need some element to show you the information that the crosshairs gave us.

Maps are just ok. Not much I can really say here.

Tank Zoom is a neat feature. I am kind of on the fence about it as I encounter some positives and negatives. Positives is that it allows players to fight at distance. I can scout out an area and then move it. The negative is I never get into close combat and the AT guys never have a chance with me. I end up feeling like a 1 man artiliary piece.

I think the mod has a lot of potential but goes too far in the wrong direction of what they "think" is realism. I look forward to future releases with the British and other tweaks as the mod moves forward.

The point of the mod isnt to be a realism mod but to be a more realistic mod than BF2. As for knowing how much health you have the next version will have a much more in-deph health meter rather than you just knowing when your bleeding, your health will be reflected visually on the screen and by sound (i think).

As for cross hairs theres really no need for them, you know where your weapons pointing, in the middle of the screen. After a little practice I find no-cross hairs easy to use not to mention you feel more involved in the game because there less HUD on the screen.

I kinda like when there is no crosshair. I've played so much this game, that when I see the enemy and get iron sights visible, it's near the target anyway. I really love nade and ammo restrictions which makes me counting my shots. Also good ballistics were impressive. The rounds I played were without vechiles so I'm waiting to see the hardware. What I liked most was that team play feeling. People were moving in groups and helping each other. Firefights were real intensive, and I didn't see too many hoppers who spoil my day just when I see one.

PRMM is a great mod, it has a great name, and I think they are giving a different kind of game to the public.

I cant wait to see the next release.

yeah the health meter thingy is something that I'm glad we removed, but can understand that it causes problems not knowing when death is immiment. in our next release we've added some audio and visual cues that will help communicate health status (it will be really obvious when you are about to die).

we've done a really lousy job on making any sort of player guide, but are looking to put one together for v0.4.

it's sort of a niche mod .. I can't really say it's purely "realistic" and I don't think such a thing would be much fun. it's as much, if not more, about teamwork and tactics than a hard core realism mod.

next release has been a bit of a beast to get done .. we're adding a bunch of stuff including British Infantry (with a couple of vehicles). it's taking much longer than we like and will be the last time we do a long development cycle .. we're gonna move to smaller updates built upon the v0.4 foundation.

Some folks willl like it, some won't. Try it again with v0.4 when we release it and see if it's to your liking. There's also lots of other great mods out there and more coming .. I'd encourage folks to spend the $10 booster pack money on beer and play the free mods.

I hate you, Project Reality mod team..

Ever since I started playing Project Reality, I can't go back to regular BF2.

Then again.. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, or a bad thing..

i love it. Im not afraid to say that it is by far my favourite mod. I like POE for a bit of a change but then sense of teamwork is unsurpassed. Like eggman says, 'Reality' is a bit of a misnomer, its really promotes teamwork thant pure reality. However 'Project Teamwork' doesnt sound as cool lol. There are roots in realism, its alot harder to stay alive and u dont know how many bullets u have in our mag etc, but this all promotes teamwork, by sticking to a medic, support etc. Why hasnt PR got a special little thread like POE above? It certainly should.

My guess is because it only has a small fraction of the fan base and number of players online. Thats just a guess though... but I posted a while back asking for other major mods like FH to get their own area.

I think what really shines about PRMM is the players who play it and not the actual mod. While PRMM was not exactly my thing, I have lots of respect for the team and look forward to the next version.

It will probably get its own thread when .4 comes out.
