BF2 MOD troubles

I recently tried installing the 1.4 patch but since it slowed my computer down, I decided to do it later when I'm idle so I quit it. Now everytime when I try starting BF2, the screen turns black and it gives me an error that "mods/bf2/shaders/lightning.fx not found!! _DO_check your working directory,_AND_ sync your shaders folders before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP, (really! ) <--copied word for word

So i checked this folder and it turns out its empty. What do i do?

re-install BF2...looks like the partial install has mucked something up
