  • Why do announcements screw up my server browser..

Everytime EA puts out one of those ****ty box announcements that are shoved in your face after logging into BF2 (EG - at the moment it is something about downloading a demo of 2142) my server browser has a spaz and loads about 10 servers, max. Usually it's fixed when i follow the link on the announment (because it's usually to do with a new patch) but this time i can't rectify it and i'm stuck getting a result of only a few servers to play on.

What, are they trying to force me to buy 2142?

Oh i know that, i always do that. What i mean is that as soon as i go on to brose a server list and choose where to play, instead of thousands of servers ill get 10. Then the search ends.

          Qtracker

Scroll up for info, that's why it's a sticky.

I have yet to see why people use ingame browsers, especially if they are "buggy".

There have been 3rd Party programs to find and filter games for years, and they are almost every time better then what is included in the game.

This isn't a BF2 issue, it's a choice issue. Choose the more adaptive, more often updated, and more versatile way of filtering and joining games.

I don't think I've ever used an ingame browser, there was Kali, Gamespy3d, Gamespy Arcade, MSN GamingZone, All Seeing Eye, and now Qtracker. I've probably left out a few I've forgotten over the years, but the point is there are better ways. Save yourself the aggrivation.

Yup. This is what is wrong.
-You have to make sure your filters are set properly
            &
-You have to make sure you are updated to 1.4
