BF2 Stats Servers after BF2142?

Will EA still provide stats servers for BF2 after BF2142 as i have heard rumors that the current stat servers are going to be wiped and used for BF2142. And then every player in BF2 will be known as a Major and have all the weapons unlocked?

I know this sounds unlikely, but it sounds like EA. Why would they pay more money on huge servers when they have some already that they can wipe and use. They wont need the stats servers for BF2 because to them it is a "has been" game.

Have heard that they would be gone by October. I'm hoping that this is not true.

no its not true. they will keep the stats servers.

But it would also be nice then since there would be no rank based harrassment. On several occasions I've read here that higher ranked guys have been having harrasment problems on several servers and also this will remove the statspadding until some other ranking system is taken over by the BF2 servers.
