    I keep losing connection...

I have no clue what's wrong...
I'm on a freshly built computer, thing is amazing (maxing out BF2 with all the gloss)

My internet is pretty damn fast.

And yet today I lost connection about 4 times in 3 minutes:cry:

...same here....for strange reasons only today. Gave up playing after I got disconnected 4 times in 10 minutes.

Normally I blame my ISP for that....

Do you live in New Jersey by any chance?

Losing connection can mean that the game is struggling with your configuration and you might have to lower graphics ingame for a better performance.

uhm...no (this is where this little texts under the Avatars come quite Handy ). I live in the UK and have to deal with the good ol' British Telecom which I blame bascially for evil in the world.
I had also problems with xfire and DNS resolutions for some websites yesterday so I can only assume that it was not BF2. Nevertheless I still ticks me off that BF2 is so Ping sensible....

has nothing to do with the pc not coping with the grfx levels. If that was the case the pc would be playing at a very low FPS, and may even lock up or not play at all.

Losing connection can be many of things, firstly scan your pc for viruses, adware, spyware, malware.

can u connect to websites reletivly fast & dload files quick? If u can do this then maye u ought to connect to a BF2 server closer to home.

If u have a great system ie Core Duo or X2 then u can play 64 with no issues, aslong as u got atleast a 2MB connection.

That was adressed at Bickus.... I already meintioned it wasn't my computers performence that was causing this.

And of course this is good, I use to play on a Nvidia 5200

                          Re: I keep losing connection...

on the EA forums there is a post concerning the last couple of days and lost connections to server. Most have not experienced any problems prior to a couple of days ago. Seems most experiencing the problem were SBC Yahoo DSL users. SBC Tech support was contacted last night, and the problem seems to have been solved?? Played for an hour last night with no connection problems-previous two days would have had several!!

                              *bump*

found a possible solution (if u have a dual core processor)
its could be down to the two cores, as bf2 was not tested on dual core processors (THANKS EA/DICE!!!! )

#5 right click on "BT2 exe"
#6 "Set Affinity" uncheck one of the "Cpu 1" or "Cpu0"

tried it just there and it seemd to fix it
