Patches will not update

After doing a fresh install of BF2, I downloaded the full 1.4 patch from the EA website. After saying that the patch install was successful, I started the game to see that I was still playing the 1.1 version.

I dl'd the 1.4 patch again from another source (Fileplanet) only to get the same result. I get the 'Patch installed successfully', but once I begin the game the version still shows that it's 1.1.

I then went and got the 1.2 patch, hoping that I could start to do an incremental install, but got the same results that I did from the first two, with my game still stuck in the 1.1 version.

Don't knoe if this will help but a while back I thought the same but it does actually update to the current version but doesn't change ther version number inside the actual game.

See if you can join most servers, if you can then the 1.4 patch is intalled. Also look for ''ReadmeServer.txt'' in your bf2 directory, it should say 1.4 at the top.

You may have a ''real'' problem but I am just passing on my experience.

i have a 'real' problem.

i keep updating, and it says it has not properly installed.
the readme file says it is v1.4

there are no servers when i open up the games.

i don't know what to do.

The latest patch is 1.41, not 1.4
you can get it on ea's site.

when your successfully patched you should see this number in your bf2 menu: 1.1.2965-797.0
