Hi, was wondering if much clans/communites play BF2? Is there any active ladders for it? It's got me worried since I just bought it, will the game be dead in a few months? If so why so soon after the release.

Not completely dead, but you will notice people either will make the move to 2142 or playing bf2 MODs. Either way, there will be bf2 ranked servers up, though not as many.

If so why so soon after the release.

Bored, some are still angry with lack of support or flat out disappointed after playing it.

if you are looking for tough competition play CAL
TWL is more laid back and has a lot of different divisions to play in (things like 2v2 armor, 2v2 chopper, etc. etc.)
there are also other smaller leagues you can play in like MLO league (not very big)
there are a few more that i dont know the name of (one that runs 30v30s and stuff) so there are plenty to choose from
