VOIP not working?

Sorry if this has already been posted.
My mic works fine under windows, msn, etc but not in BF2. When I run the microphone and speak into the mic the threshold bar doesn't do anything. I've reinstalled BF2 a few times already and always get the same problem and yes I've updated my soundcard drivers. The sound card is a SoundBlaster Live! 24 bit. Thanks for help

are you using a USB microphone?? i had this problem once before really anoying try when u do the test to be talking when u click on the button to activate it i found that this allowed your voice to be transmitted through but the bar wouldnt move. i ended up doing the VOIP setup a couple of times and it started working
