i keep on lagging ever since path 1.4 now i cant even fly a jet or a helicopter but i can gun. Please help me

ever since installing 1.4 i have been having lag problems everwhere also
3.4GHZ pentum 4, 2gb kingston ddr400 ram running duel channel, xpert vision 6800gs agp 512mb card, used to have everything on high with no probs at all since patch ive droped resulation and still no good lagging everytime i play no mater what server .... whats the go?

right i quit, reinstalled BF2 and the patch as a single download, updated my video drivers and it still bloody lags until it is fixed goodbye battlefield 2
