Free Use of Ventrilo Server

For those users that do not like TS or can't seem to find a voice server feel free to use mine. Please respect other users while in the server. The ventrilo version that I use can be downloaded from http://gamingfreaks.org/files/ventrilo.zip

This Ven server is for personal gaming use only, please no advertising, as I wouldn't expect you'd advertse on Total BF2.

Ive never tried Vent, but I hear its better than TS in Voice quality.

There are literally dozens of free TS servers, Vent is a little different since it doesn't include a server listing option.

I find it highly odd some would come in here and offer what can readily be accessed through the server your playing on , or with a nearly equivalent program (TS).

Not all servers offer a free for all ventrilo server to use. What I find odd is that people look way too deeply into something like this. A lot of people have posted on here that they will let anyone use their vent server.

I suppose I shouldn't be so negative, your right.

It's just that TS has literally 100s of servers that are empty, free or both.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd get the newer version gamefreaks is running and check it out just out of curiosity. I just don't think I could make my voice squeaky enough to attract any predators. ;-).

If you want to talk about something odd, this is the the root URL's page: GamingFreaks. There seems to be no "they". Just a blank page.

The plot thickens. Not to mention Mr. Liquid hasn't posted again anywhere in the forums.

Meh, it was mostly in jest.

But would you accept an offer for your kids to talk on the phone from some who's anonymous and essentially is trying to portray himself as part of an orginization or community (Gaming Freaks) that doesn't really exist?

It's my parental instincts still kicking in even though my youngest (and only) is 20 y.o. ;-).

Personally I wouldn't post something like that on this forum and here's why: we have our TS server IP and 1st time password scrolling in game and we still get script kiddies in there trying to get Server Admin rights so they can take over teamspeak and try and make us say some stupid soundbyte so they can host it on their website to prove how cool they are (TS admins will undoubtedly know what I'm talking about, not sure if this applies to vent b/c I've never used it).

My point is that when our TS was without a password and publicized widely we got lots of these people, but since we're a little more low key about it now we've only had one in the past 2 or 3 months.

We offer ours to the gaming public as well, but you'd have to be in our server or on our website to get the info.

It's a very generous offer, I guess I'm just a little more selfish when it comes to protecting the clan's investments.
