Another newbie question: How do you throw hand grenades?

This must be an embarrasing question. But how the heck do you accurately throw a hand grenade to where you want it to be. The crosshair doesn't seem to work that way. And how did those people throw them so far? I killed myself a couple of times because it landed right beside me...

How to throw grenades:
The crosshair isn't where the grenade will land. Line it up with your target, but the greater the distance, the higher you will have to throw. Think about throwing a baseball. Throwing 60 feet, you can throw a line drive, but when you're at center field and need to hit the catcher, you're going to have to arc it a little bit depending on your arm strength. Eventually you get better at aiming the grenades in game. So just keep practicing. Those suicides are helping you learn!

U must hold right mouse button and then release or just clck left mouse b.
As for accuracy U must get a feeling of it where it will fall

left click to throw, right click to drop
aim high for distance
the grenades will land close top where your aiming reticle is with some small deviation

If it landed right next to you, you probably hit the RMB (right mouse button) by mistake. Hitting left mouse button is a full-strength throw, but you can hold down the RMB to throw a grenade a shorter distance. If you just tap the RMB, it lands right next to you.

As for getting the grenade where you want it to go, you'll just have to practice with the arc until you get the hang of it. Also, you can throw it further if you're moving forward when you throw it.

to throw a grenade real far - look up about 60 degrees - then run - and click the left mouse button and right before the guy hurls it - jump.

the grenade inherits your velocity. so if you throw it standing still it won't go as far as if you throw it running. the jump just adds a little height to it.
