Re: Thinking about buying, had some questions

One thing that has been mentioned but not explained here is the "cone of fire", not to be confused with the "cone of silence" (anybody old enough to remember get smart?)

What this means is as a bullet exits the muzzle of your gun, it has some random factor added to it. Imagine a long thin cone with the point stuck in your gun barrel. your bullet could be anywhere inside the cone, you have no control over it. The further your intended victim is away from you, the larger the circle that makes the base of the cone is, hence the harder it is to hit them, as the bullet could be anywhere in that circle. If you are used to quake or unreal, this game may piss you off immensely at first, as you empty a clip (you think) into a guy's head and he turns and one-shots you from the hip. It takes a while to get used to , and can be VERY frustrating if you are an uber-FPS guy.

I mention this not to try to discourage you from purchasing the game, but to let you know what to expect at first. You should buy the game, it is simply the most entertaining multiplayer game ever made, bar none. I am an RTS guy (real time strategy - age of empires, warcraft etc.) who never really got into FPS, who has played nothing but BF2 for over a year. See you on the battlefield.

The game is well worth the money. You will become addicted and that can lead to a host of personal problems - pissing off your wife, falling behind in school, etc.

now if that doesn't make him buy it, I don't know what will.

you'll love a free expansion called Point of Existance. The guns are very powerful and have a nice crack to them.
wonder does POE2 work with the demo?

            1. its realistic here and there, but for the most part, its a balance between the two.

            2. you will always find a game, unless its euroforce

            3. no, no its not. the gameplay is seriously flawed due to a lack of code and other things, definitly play 2142 instead.
