I recently got a new laptop (Dell E1505), i reformatted my laptop, installed ALL of the latest and up to date drivers, and proceeded to install BF2 Deluxe. I then installed the 1.4 patch so everything was up to date.
When i am browsing through the menu, everything is fine unless i click on the "Audio" tab, then the buzzing starts, even when loading a map, the sound is ok. But once the map is loaded and i join or press "Ready" or if i click the audio tab, i get this constant buzzing or static like noise coming from my speakers in the background of the game sound. This is not a crackling noise, but a constant "buzzzz" type noise. I tried plugging in headphones and the sound transfers to the headphones.
I ran all diagnostics tests to make sure that everything was fine with my laptop - everything was. I then un-installed BF2, and re-installed it. I tried it without the patch, and then tried it with the patch, everytime i get the buzzing sound when i create a single player game or join a multi player game. I have also tried disabling the USB Root Hub's in Device manager, i read about this on another forum, but this has no effect on my issue. I have tried Half Life 2, CS:S, and CS:S and none of these make any weird sounds, so i am pretty sure it is a BF2 issue.
I have tried all of the punkbuster suggestions in the sticky on this site and those have not worked at all, any help is appreciated!
Can ANYONE please help?
