    Repairing From The Inside Out

Ok so me and my friends play allot of battle field 2 and I being a "good" friend always end up being an engineer and repairing our tanks and stuff while they get all the fun and glory.

Now when you are in the back seat of a jeep / transport helicopter or any seat where you can change weapon, when you go to the spanner in engineer class you can look down at your vehicle and in some areas there is a spot where the spanner icon lights up and you can repair the vehicle from the inside (Very handy when your transport helicopter has had a close run in with tank ><) well anyway what want to know is if you receive repair points for repairing your vehicle from the inside???

I’m only asking this because being an engineer is dangerous work, I mean getting out of a armored Apc to repair it, while that Apc is in a fierce battle with a tank is moderately risky

If you do get repair points then this method is safer and will help with getting those few extra points that could secure a medal for you. If not ... well you can still help your team mates even if it gets a bit monotonous. :|:

sorry man, there are only a couple vehicles you can repair from the inside. The AA vehicles in the secondary seat, the jeeps from the back, and the transport helos from the back seats. But repairing the BH from the inside is hard, long, tedious work and often not to much worth it. This was gimped in the earliest patch.

Now, you can sit next to a vehicle and repair it from another vehicle(I am sure you know this). Sometimes, it is best to be in an adjacent vehicle. like two tanks rolling together.

yeah, rocket child is right, tanks/apc's next to each other with an engi and support is the best possible combination.

ooops, the thread is 2 days old... d*mn

If you haven't noticed, there are a lot of new BF2 players recently. Most of which are blissfully ignorant of the glory of days gone by. There was a time in BF2's past when an Engineer in the back of a Blackhawk could rack up 153pts in a single round on Mashtur.

Right now, you're best off getting out an using your wrench. If you're playing with friends, you have the added advantage that they shouldn't run you over and then claim they didn't see you there repairing them.
