major problems need help please

hi all,
i have a big problem with my comp when ever i try and install games or start games up my comp totaly freezes up for about 30 secs then if im on teamspeak i lose connection from it

i am up to date with all drivers ect i think :hmm:
any help would be great

specs:
AMD 3700+
7800gt
160 gig hd
2 gig ram
windows xp

i had it where if i played bf2 my mic would stop working on teamspeak
the only solotion i found was turning mic boost off in bf2 options, i know its a long shot but its worth a try
