All of a sudden i'm getting the following message when i try and load bf2.

"mods\bf2\shaders.fx not found!!!_DO_Check your working directory,_AND_sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering progrqammer/GP. (really!!!)"

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and repatching 1.4. Same thing happens.

Anyone got any suggestions. Apologies if the message is actually telling me what to do. I have limited knowledge of such things.

Also are error messages usually as sacastic as this? I refer to the "really" at the end.

you dont have the 2.0 shader you need least 2.0 above recommand 3.0 I have 3.0 its rock

Yes - went for the full patch straight away this time (once bitten and all that).

It seems to work if I run it straight from the dvd rather than clicking on the desktop icon. So not really the end of the world i suppose. Still a bit odd.

Thats fixed with a simple reinstall ,i had that first time i installed.
Probley down to a file transfer error.

Thank you - you are right. Like an idiot, the first time I reinstalled, I completely forgot about special forces. Reinstalled everything and problem solved.
