    Re: run on high settings?

2GB of RAM would definitely help, but the processor and graphics card will definitley handle the higher game settings!!! You can always pop in another 1GB RAM after your purchase, if you dont care about the RAM being matched pairs!!

What kind of monitor comes with this system....check the resolution setting that the monitor is capable of before you buy it!! Some packages have a great base unit and a sucky monitor to cut down on cost!

yeah 1 gig wont be enuff unless u want stuttering every few minutes

i would try to go for at least a gig and a half of ram and i wouldnt go all high settings...i would at least set dynamic shadows and dynamic lighting to medium as those kill ur fps usually

                  Re: run on high settings?

a 7600GT or 7600GS? the 512 MB doenst really mater since its not pusihing the limits like 7900GTX
My specs = easy all maxed out for BF2142, ETQW and BF2.
*yes, considering ETQW is gonna be magically low requirements, but with better graphics)

Give us a link, so we can tell.
I advice u to go for a 7600GT 256MB, that is a way better crad.

a)Its a GT not GS then, whihc makes alot of difference
b)512 MB Video Ram on 7600 isnt usefull on 7900GT, let alone 7600GS!
c)there have been repoprts of 7600 cards which have 512 MB are of lesser qualtity, to keep the price down, because 512 mb would increasy price

gs is clocked quite a bit lower and only has gddr2 memory, whereas the gt has gddr3

You wanna run on high settings, why not get a 7900GT or better, and you'll definetely need atleast 1.5gb of ram.

As everyone elts said you need another gig , Back when i had only 1 gig i did extensive testing trying to get my textures to med without going over a gig . I tryed turning off every program i could think of and managed to get down to about 300mb at startup. When i played Bf2 it would allways go over the 1 gig limit .
