    AA, it has improved right?

I'm finding that on maps like Ghost town the AA is picking me up from way across the map, I mean the AA at the brit uncap can lock-on to both helo's that take off? It never used to be the case right?

And the rocket launcher shotgun? It's gone uber also?

I haven't really noticed with AA, I typically find them before they get a chance to shoot me down. Mobile AA (see eryx and the like) still take 2 shots to take down a attack helo.

      AA is overpowered in BF2.

Also, Ghost Town is a relatively small map compared to some of the Vanilla maps like Daqing and Dragon Valley. That's probably why you're getting locked on so easily.

The AA has not changed!!! It still takes several shots to bring down a helo, and the weapon lock is still not that accurate (way to many misses for being locked).

Ghost town is a small map, but you have those #@#$ oil rigs that make it hard to lock your missles on a helo anywhere near the water front!

I have had good luck with the guns to bring down the helos, and left the missles for when I know a TV guided missles is headed at me....I just return the close range favor!!! We normally both end up toast, and I normally do not get points for taking out the helo, but at least the helo is out of action!

I personally feel the AAs are not overpowered, but can be used VERY effectively if they are located properly on any given map!

I fly heli's almost whenever I can in SF. And honestly, I'd swear since the last patch in Ghost Town, the SAM at SAS Staging Area seems like it can reach farther to lock on than normal.

Now that said, I haven't noticed a lot of it, but enough to make we wonder just like you have. In the past, sometimes if they caught a lock in the middle it would track you almost all the way to the Resort's helipad. Practically only thing that would break it would be setting down behind a building. But, I too have noticed that even just after leaving the helipad for instance and barely approaching the river that I'll start getting targetted by that AA. I never remember that happening before. I was about to chalk it up to my just not paying proper attention, but your post has made me think twice about it now.

Once again, I'm gonna' have to say the AA is overpowered in BF2. Especially in Vanilla maps.

Could just be a helo' pilots point of view. I hate when I get shot down. :)

They lock on to you as soon as you get in the helo, flares dont last long enough to take off....
