They already f--ked us with Battlefield 2! The reason for this thread is that Microsoft recently launched a new "Games for Windows" program. If EA/DICE want to participate, 2142 must meet certain criteria.
This program sets a new requirement for Windows based PC gaming titles.
I read awhile back where someone from DICE had mentioned that Widescreen support was "unlikely" for 2142. Not that Im buying, but you would think by now they would implement this feature. Now if they want that little seal of approval, they better consider it.
Hats off to Microsoft for starting this program, makes game developers get off their @$$ and give us what we want. So many people have asked/demanded true widescreen support for Battlefield 2. What does DICE do in return? They look the other way...

Games for Windows titles are required to meet a number of criteria, including widescreen support, various reliability standards, 64-bit Windows support, Xbox 360 controller support for games with gamepad control options, streamlined game installation, the ability to be launched from within Windows Media Center, as well as Windows Vista-specific features such as compatibility with the upcoming operating system's integrated Games Explorer.
