not sure what settings i should be running..

well i have had bf2 since release but stopped playing a few months after that, until now.

so ive started playing again but im having trouble finding my optimum(is that a word lol?) settings. Im nearly positive i used to play with mostly mediums, a few lows, and 2x aa.

thing is, my rig isnt very good so how was i able to do that? it can't do it now anyway.

    my specs are : p4 3.4
    6600 pci-e
    512mb ram

if anyone here has something similar could they please post(or anyone with a different one who has an idea)

    thanks

upgrading to 1gb-1.5gb ram will improve what graphic settings you can manage :)

Start with view distance to 100%, shadows and lights off, and everything else at medium and work your way down from there. Buy yeah, Scinto's right, you need more RAM.

Rather than creating a new thread (I hope you don't mind the hi-jack) but what settings do you think I should be running on?

        AMD 64+ 3800+
        1.5GB DDR400 Kingston
        256MB 6800GS @ 485/1100 (Stock:425/1000)
        200GB IDE Seagate
        MSI K8N Neo 4F

          hi-jacks cool man! thanks guys

and for you, i was round at a friends who has lesser specs than you with the game maxed out COMPLETELY

just in case you want to know, his specs were : p4 3.2ghz
          1gb ram
          6800

so you should be able to max out as well

and guys, pretty soon im buying an extra gig of ram and a 7600gt (soon as i get the money, shouldn't be long)
