Patch problems PLEASE HELP

First of all
P 4 2.4 ghz
1 gig ram
6600 gt

game runs perfectly until i decide to patch to 1.3. I patch and game refuses to load and CTDs. I decide itll be fixed in 1.4. I download 1.4 and same thing happens. I try every patch out there and the same thing happens with everyone. tis is getting really annoying please help me.

yes i tried the full 1.2 patch the full 1.3 patch and the full 1.4 patch and all of them have the same problem. When i click the shortcut or normal bf2.exe it brings up the bf2 logo, goes into the black screen then goes back to the desktop. I tried reinstalling many tiems re-downloading patches from diffrent sites and reformatting my computer. I even bought a new DVD and still...nothign works. The game runs fine on medium settings with 30-40 fps which i consider fast enough. But after the patch, nothing works. I reallllyy want to get this problem fixed because its hard to find a server running 1.0 near where i live.
