    My bf2 graphics headache

    hi,

basically i had an old geforce 4 and needed an upgrade so ive just brought a new geforce 6600 which seems to have been installed fine.

yet when i play bf2 the graphics look like this...

im not brill with pc's but i have tried everything i can think of, got all the drivers for the new card even tried uninstalling and reinstalling them but it seems to make no difference.

please does anyone know what the problem could be? i've tryed unistalling the game n reinstalling, its not overheating, all the specs add up and should play the games fine as far as i can tell. i realy have no idea, please help before i pull all my hair out!

oh also, i have an Advent pc with intel pentium 4, 2.8GHz, 80GB, 512 ram, its not great i know but should work

Since it is not a heating nor driver issue you should replace your card but before doing so try 3dmark2006 if artifacts occured just replace it.

Is your new graphics card one of the ones that are overclocked by the manufacturer? I have seen this type of problem on cards that are overclocked even the higher end cards. For some reason BF2 has a real problem with overclocked cards.
      Just my 2 cents!

sorry i should have said in my original post.. im not to good with computers so you might need to explain a few things for me here.
anyway in reply to your post.. i have already replaced the new card as i thought it was broken but the replacment is just the same, so i dont think its that.
im not sure what 3dmark is or does. have done a search for it so can dload if you think i still need to seen as i have replaced my card once already.
also what do you mean by artifacts?

        p.s thanks for reply

I have the same card as u, a 6600gt and its overclocked. An everthing runs fine. U should try putting your in game video settings at 1024x768 and have everthing on medium to low with no anti aliasing or antisropic filtering.See how u go with those settings. Also did u dowload the latest 91.47 drivers from nvidia website and have u installed your chipset drivers aswell.

What drivers have you tried? Some of the older driver may run better with the 6600.
