Strange Graphics glitches

I recently bought myself a new laptop, but when running BF2 it works fine for a few minutes each game, then i get some weird graphics glitches.

Grey/white lines will appear on the screen, sometimes originating from objects to the bottom of a screen, sometime just being there. Sometimes they will be see through and you can still see the original objects, sometimes they will be full grey/white bars.

Here is the specs for my laptop.

Intel® 945PM / ICH7-M Chipset
nVidia Geforce Go 7600 512MB graphics
Intel® Pentium™ M Yonah 2.00 GHz
DDRII dual channel (533/667) 2048MB


Anyone else encountered thee problems? (presumably its the graphics card having the issues?)

Also, i havent patched it up yet as i still have to set up my wireless net connection. So if 1,4 fixes these issues, could you tell me.

Well, this will be a short thread, Spirit, without the latetest patch your certainly will have graphics issues. At the beginging, this game had some crappy graphics issues, and the patch's dealt with them well enough.

Will it fix your issue? No one may ever say for certain, but i'm guessing with the latest patch/latest nvidia driver, I think your go for launch.

Also, your wireless thing methinks has no bearing on the patch, run it now regardless to see, even if you only play single player.

Thanks alot.

On the wireless issue, what i ment was, without alot of messing around, i wont get internet on my laptop untill i sort out my wireless. No net, no patch, unless i manage to get myself a flash disk. But im in no hurry lol, if you cant play bf2 online, whats the point?

Well, this will be a short thread,

It would appear not.

I have installed patch 1.4 (the full 500mb one, straight from shelf version to 1.4, and i am still getting these glitches.

As far as i can see, when i turn the textures setting to low i do not get the glitches, but surely with a gfx card like mine this shouldnt be a problem?

If i can get time il take some screenshots of the problem, because id like to run my game on high, not low (

EDIT: Texturs on low does not solve the problem

Hi there, im getting graphics glitches too on a new laptop that i just got:

HP pavilion dv6095:

1.8 Ghz AMD turion X2 TL-56
2GB ddr2 @ 667MHz
Nvidia GO 7200 with upto 256mb turbocache
100 GB 5400 rpm hdd
Windows XP Home

Performance wise, the game runs perfectly smooth, with everything MED exept for textures which are set to high when at 1024x768...the only glitches that occur are that the map landscape and floor turn bright white sometiems and randomly too. Ill will edit this post with a sscreen shot when I can, but please, any help for any of our graphics glitches would be thankful.

I see rock walls that blur sometimes at close distance

I had this, or a similiar problem with my desktop PC.. Turns out the problem was my power supply, it wasn't powerful enough to run everything aswell as the graphics card. New PSU, no problems.

May or may not help you guys, but it might.

Have you guys cleared your Cache Folders and have gotten the latest video drivers?

There wasn't much cache to clear, but ill try when i play bf2 nxt time...and the drivers are as late as late can be...can't play much anyways, can only get bout 2 or 3 rounds of 64 player server in then bf2 crashes dut toe heat...waiting to have enough money for a coolermaster or akasa laptop cooling pad, other wise i just unplug my mouse, walk upstairs and play Just Cause...so do you guys think that my ''white land and sea'' is due to overheating, I would be very thankful for your opinions on this, thanks...
