Bought game June 24/05 now just over 40K points, ~600 hrs

A few days away from 50 yrs old. I'm a patent searcher with my own search firm for last 12 years.

Most fun I have is playing with my nephews/nieces/brother-in-laws during visits. Our house has 3 copies of BF2 on 3 pc's , and we get to play together in same room (door closed of course, to keep in the gunfire and noise to a low rumble), with our spouses visiting together in the living room.

It's an interesting game, I can still pwn all my relatives, except when I use the consoles at their homes. Just can't use a console like my mouse and keyboard.

360 hrs since I started paying in April 06. That's a little over a 2hr. a day average.

Once winter starts and I only work when it snows my daily average will nearly double.

Who cares what age we are. I started playing multi-player PC games when they came fairly sophisticated (real time advesarial). I don't see why I should stop doing something I like.

Especially when there's no one who has the power or authority to stop me. I didn't get to this stage in life to listen to anyone else. The mortgage is paid, the taxes are paid and lights are on, it's not like gaming makes me poor. Unlike other endeavors of fun I've been involved in.

Personally I think it keeps me young, and sort of in touch. My daughter's boyfreind and I had had a lengthy hardware discussion while driving to get her set up in her new apartment in the Boston area for school.

If it weren't for gaming computer hardware and a couple games we had in common, what would we have talked about? Sports? OK we did talk about that too, but it was PC games and computers that gave us a good icebreaker.

played for like 210 hours in 6 month, with 9000 kills, im 16....uninstalled this game like 3 times but after soem good videos has inspiration back again :P.
bf2 is not my primary game so i really have low time.

No, I have never met either gentleman. I did however, 4 years ago, have the privilege of meeting Col. David H. Hackworth ( www.hackworth.com ) at a book-signing for his book, "Steel My Soldier's Heart : The Hopeless to Hardcore Transformation of the U. S. Army, 4/39, Vietnam". I was able to talk to him for about 40 mins., one on one, because I got to the small bookstore early....

I also recommend any of his other books, in particular, "About Face : The Odyssey of an American Warrior".

His books about the Vietnam era will show you what went wrong, and why.

I'll have to check those books out, ever since I read "Silent Warrior" I have been engrossed with Vietnam books, on my next trip to the bookstore, I plan to try on of those books, and buy "Marine Sniper".
