I tried searching the forum for this but I do not know what keywords to type. Today I created a new Bf2 account and jumped straight into Multiplayer. The momment I spawned, I felt that everything was different. The 'shing' sound you hear when you deploy your knife is totally different from what I have heard before, and the explosions sound different too. When I tried to spot the enemy, it went from 'Enemy Units on the move' to 'Enemy activity!' and when I tried spotting armor, previously it was 'We got hostile armor!' it became 'Enemy Tank is inbound over!' Everything changed! Could someone tell me whats going on here?

As for the spotting, it will play one of several messages but they all mean the same thing.
"Hostile jet spotted" is what you get one time; "we've got company overhead" is what it will play the next. -

I don't think that's it. I've been playing battlefield 2 for about 2 months now and I've only heard this new radio commands today. When I played Battlefield 2 last time the radio commands were always the same. It is only after creating a new account and playing it and everything was different. Today was the first time I heard my character say 'Good Deal Thanks!'.Comment

Did you reinstall?? Do you have special forces? because I had been playing on an older install and reinstalled on another hd and the game sounded different to me also. The artillary explosions the radio commands and some other sounds, minor small things that werent in the old installation. I cant figure it out either but I was able to go between games and hear the difference.
Also just want to mention that I used my same account on both hd's just the old install didnt have the additional sounds the new had.Comment

I didn't reinstall. I have already installed SF but I hear these new sounds after I had created a new online account and it only works with that online account. I tried my offline account and these new sounds were not present on my offline account. When I got into a jet today, I actually heard the enigines starting up. It was the first for me. I have previoulsy seen BF2 videos and I noticed that the radio commands were different from mine and i thought it was a mod or something. But it was really wierd. After having BF2 for a little more than 2 months this is the first time I heard new sound files.Comment

it depends what is your sound set to if its set to low you wont be able to hear it,if its medium or high you will hear it.
So check your sound settings in bf2 I think your new account is set to <<medium>>software>> and your old is on low.Comment
