    Jet Flight

I have talked to many people I know that play battlefield, and I can't seem to get banking and manuvering down. I can bomb and strafe the ground just fine with the jets. I am really good with the heli's and I know my way around the jet, its just that once I get someone on my tail I can't get them off. I have yet to try flying with a joystick, I use a mouse right now and it seems to work very well for many people. If anyone could please give me some advice on dogfights with the jet, anything would be helpful.

Thanks, see you on the field.

    Re: Jet Flight

well, ive been in a total of 1 air to air fight which i lost, but in theory doing step 1: a sharp left turn while at the same time climbing and then step 2: switching to a sharp right (or vice versa) while diving should work.

if the guys still on your tail you might want to repeat step 1 and 2, if he isnt, follw through on step 2 (keep turning) and you should be behind him.

i hope this helps. also there is a forum section dedicated to tips and guides and etc.

    enjoy.

      Re: Jet Flight

I'm a relative noob, but I am finally evening out my jet performance. I find my joystick helps with the jets. it just reacts faster and more consistently than the mouse in a dogfight. i went back to the mouse for Helo's once i got the hang of it, and now my control is much improved.

Obviously, don't try to learn to dogfight on a J-10 map (unless you have one ), because you will get spanked hard every time. Pick a map like Oman with lots of space, and just practice. Or, camp the J-10 on wake, and get your confidence up.

I found the best thing for my jet skills was playing for about 4 hours one night against a single other kid on Kubra dam (empty server). When we got tired of easy missile kills, we played guns only, and then even gave up on that and just played cat and mouse flying through and under obstacles. There is a lot of tight spaces to sneak through/under, and you can link them together to make longer and more challenging twisty routes. By the end, the only obstacle we couldn't clear was the lower tunnel.

Once your precision is there, just turn, turn, turn. Use a little afterburner to improve your climb rate, and don't be afraid of guns in close

try and link in a barrel roll

one of our better pilots was showing us some small tips

        1. flares, then dip down a bit before bank left/right and up
        2. at the top of your bank barrel roll (this for some reason screws the hit detection)
        3. just keep going left and right up and down very hard. if you can plumet for the ground and then pull up, i'v sumtiems caused my tailing enemy to crash.

hope that helps, but i aint much of a jet pilot, more a chopper no0b

          #1 USE A JOYSTICK
#2 - as you said - PRACTICE in an empty server
#3 - do NOT fly level in the mid altitudes in mid map

          #4 HAVE FUN !

most efecctive manuver i know is this.

as soon as an enemy is on your tail pull strait up keep pulling back on the stick untill your upside down then press forward untill your headed back twards the ground. U prbly want to flare in the upward stage because your a bit vunerable to missiles at that point.

-always seems to work for me

the loop is not the best way to ditch jets that can turn and manouver faster than urs. wat u gota do is do half loops+ after burn, do half loops, and also do inside turns, witch is a sharp turn but turning a lil bit inside the ground, this way ur cuting angles and can keep up with the j10s and migs. do 1 half loop left-botom turn, then when u think j10 lost u, do a sharp right-right turn, that way the level the j10s flying at wont see u make the turn, so he will continue in his loop, then u turn right again to get in his tail. i suck at explaining but thats how i got to shoot down j10s these days in f35. also try to gun j10s and try to hit then when they are passing slowly to refuel.

I find that my best bet for getting away is the immelman turn (i know it isn't spelt right so no flak) but it is basically a half loop with a roll so that you end up flying in the oppostie direction at a higher altitude, i have also found that reversing this move repeatadly tends to confuse the heck outa the guy on you tail.
