okay i have a few questions. first, i only play on the USMC team and i only snipe. i really really want the l96a1. but i am worried that i might not be able to get it on the USMC team because i think it is only for the MEC's or something. i can almost unlock it but i dont want to waste my unlock on something im never going to be able to use. so could one of you guys plz tell me if im going to be able to use the l96a1 on the USMC team?plz?

L96A1.. One word: Perfect Sniper from long distances it's still very accurate but has a bit bullet drop. It's the best sniper in my opininion. A few shots on a armoured guy and he's dead. But one shot on a medic and a quick pistol whipping in his face will also guarentee you the kill.

I don't know why, but my shooting on the L96a1 is night and day better than the standard. I just seem to hit far more head shots than with any other.

I do still like the Barret for it's damage to cars and helos, but my kill count is best on the L96.

Well the L96A1 is more accurate.. I believe the M95 is the most innaccurate; Can also be because of it's big crosshairs. My personal favourite will always be the L96A1.

I like to use M24 on maps where target distance tends to be less than 150m. New map Road to Jalalabad is perfect for M24. Bigger croshair is also better in for fast situations. L96A1 is superb for long range sniping like shooting from the arty island on Wake Island map.

For a long time I was loyal to L96A1 and I didn't use others at all, but now when I have started to select according the map, my accuracy fo moving targets is improved a lot. Last night with M24, I managed to drop 4 times a driver from a moving jeep, and my best K/D ratio on Road to Jalalabad round was 25/0.

Practise makes masters, not the gun.

so basically its the same thing?

is the bullet drop any different? or the scope?

Scopes different, it has much sleeker sights making aiming at extreme ranges much easier.(sp?)

Not to mention, the L96 has a quieter report(Sound when you fire it) than the M24, so people are less likely to hear unless there really close. The sound can also be easily mistaken for a distant explosion, makin it even easier for you to keep conceald with it.

Its also rumored that the L96 zooms in SLIGHTLY farther than any other rifle, its a RUMOR though, but I find it to be true.

L96 is also a tad bit more accurate, so IMO, L96 > M24 in so many ways.

well from what ive heard, EVERYONE likes the l96a1(if u know what i mean). so i guess i will go with that one. i hate the m95 because of its crosshair and the way it looks, AND the accuracy. but my FAV map is road to jalalabad because of the great sniping spots on it and the only sniper rifle ive used is the m24 and it works great. so i dont know. i guess ill have to see for myself. since the L96A1 has better scope, apparently better accuracy, and looks better, it may just be the best gun. but ive heard google video clips of the L96A1 and it sounds awfully loud.... i know the m24 is just right but if the L96 is better i will go with that one.

well you got to it before i did but okay now definately my choice is the l96. i love the noise but to me it alwas seemed louder, even though the sound was a lot better sounding. thanks

Trust me, its not loud at all. Many occasions, I'v had an M95/M24/any other rifle sniper about 100meters away, I fired at something, then he fired and I heard him.

I though *Meh just a friendly sniper* then I fired at someone who was shooting at a friendly and dropped him, and I heard another rifle crack and my friendly dropped.

I found the sniper and knifed him, he wasn't that far at all.

And I think he didn't find me because my beloved L96 sound. :)

I also ran a test, the you can't hear the L96 after about 50meters, or around there.

M24-80 meters I'd guess

M95-100 meters*(Just guessing with these two)

good job. yes my new gun is the l96. thanks for help. man i just cant get over the look of it. i like how its got that wrapping on the barrel. the m95 is the ugliest thing ive ever seen. it needs a facelift.

L96 is exactly as accurate as the M24. :P

i hate the m95 because of its crosshair and the way it looks, AND the accuracy.

M95 is better for urban maps where accuracy doesn't matter as much, i.e. places the SVD would work well. When you can be sure your shots will hit, it's great for tilting the scales in a standoff by rapidly depleting everyone's health.
