Helicopter Help?

I have a hell of a time trying to get any Helicopter off the ground fast. I press my up arrow to increase the torque, with the blades spinng at max I usally have to rock the Helicopter back and forth to get off the ground or, do a 360 and it finally lifts off the ground. Once I have it off the ground the first time its easy to land then get back up in the air no problem, it seems to be when you first get into it and fire it up it takes for ever to get off the ground.

Anyone have any suggestions, to get the Helo off the ground faster.? :cry:

Yea I don't think there is anything you can do to change this. Just wait for it to "power" up I guess.

So its not my flying capability, its just BF2. I thought I was doing something wrong. :laugh:

different choppers do have different spin up speeds. Also as gunner, if I spawn first, I'll grab the pilot seat to get the blades going and switch to 2nd seat when the pilot is close.

the best you can do is wobble and spin.
Try to lift part of the heli up and kinda fall to the side.
Normally you are spun up enough and can get yourself up.

You could play Allied Intent. The helo's dont need to be "warmed up", they immediately take off when you apply torque.

There is nothing you can do to speed up taking off...
There is however something you can do to speed up getting away at takeoff...

Just before the landinggear wants to lift off, point the nose of the chopper down so the moment it takes to the sky, you have forward movement...

BTW: I see a lot of pilots perform a 360 at takeoff... Who started that rumour anyway..?
