    Higher probability of cheating?

This is an open question, because I really don't know.

Having played a few weeks of PoE2, I *feel* like I experience a lot of questionable kills, especially considering the exclusion of the UAV and sat scan. Most of these kills are the result of someone "magically" knowing where I am or where I am going.

I recognize that often times deaths feel that way, but I also wanted to ask:

Because PoE2 is a mod, unranked, and not official EA/DICE material, is it as well-guarded against cheating as regular, ranked BF2?

I know BF2 ain't bulletproof so no need to comment on that. I'm just asking for a comparison of anti-cheating measures from POE2 to BF2, and if there's really any difference.

    Thoughts?

I think poe2 just uses pb like bf2 and nearly any hack that works in bf2 i think works in poe2. I know were your coming from though I'm certain i keep getting killed by people that have no fog cheats but there no way of me ever proofing this so i always keep quite about it.

Why cheat on an unranked server?

If I'm correct POE was one of the first mods to get this aspect down. Notice how in other mods/maps the Verifying takes 2 seconds? Well POE's actual varify's and stops those with modified content from joining.

I've never actually noticed that as verifying has always taken roughly the same time not matter what mod ive played.

Agreed, I left my response a little short. Cheating in general is retarded but people still do it...I would think being that there is no "reward" persay like stats or awards then it would be thwarted a little easier.

the commander can still zoom all the way out and then just click spotted and if someone is within 100 yards of where he spotted - it will mark you

                  kind of like a uav.

i do it on fallen all the time.

Yup. But seems far too frequent and widespread for it to just be a commander.

Well spotting people helps. You can still spot someone who than lights up on anyone´s map. I hate that feature of BF2.

It varies from computer to computer. Some take 5-15 seconds, mine takes around the same time as actual loading. POE is the only mod that doesn't skip verifying for me. Also, some dev made a post on it before release. I'll see if I can look it up.

Don't always think just because they can see you it's cheating. If it happens a lot in one round by the same person over and over I'd get suspicious. I think the more popular punkbuster servers are protected by punkbuster same as BF2.
