Problems connecting online

I just installed SF and everything went fine until I clicked join game. It gave me the message :this server only allows players with un modified content to join. Revert your version of bf2 to the current official version to join.

Before I installed SF, I already patched to 1.4
I remember seeing SF patching to 1.1 or something like that when installing...i already tried to patch 1.4 over again, but it told me that I needed the 1.3 Version. ???

Is there a patch for SF to bring it up to date with 1.4 vanilla?

SF will put your game back to original. Re install the 1.4 full patch and you will be ok.

Will I have to uninstall both the original BF2 and SF, then install both again....then patch to 1.4? I'm trying to avoid doing this, because I lost the manual w/ my CD KEY on the original BF2.

I tried to run the 1.4 patch as you suggested, but it gives me an error saying that I need patch V1.3. :hmm:

no u should just be able to download the Full 1.4 patch 530mb and install that, no need to reinstall bf2 and sf

i can't believe I found my manual to BF2... before I uninstalled the game, I went into my documents and found the battlefield 2 folder. I renamed the folder to "battlefield 2X", then proceeded to uninstall...

I installed the games in this order

BF2
Expansion Pack
Patch 1.4 full

Then renamed the new battlefield 2 folder to something else and renamed the "battlefield 2X" folder back to battlefield 2. This kept my control settings and profiles in tact with the new install.

I'm happy now.
