Bf2 will not launch on 1.4....

I've been able to deal with 1.4 all the way up till now... every time i click on "bf2.exe" it will sit there then display a white box, where the bf2 splash screen should be, then that goes away and nothing happens.

Whenever i reinstall it works fine again untill i join and exit bf2 a random number of times. It's so frustrating......

tried reinstalling, clearing bf2 folder in my docs
fresh install of windows couple days ago.


any ideas?

Yes, I am having the EXACT same problem. If I press ctrl+alt+del the bf2.exe process is there taking up some memory and CPU usage, should that help.

u should check ur firewall, cuz it happened to me be4. Found out that was the firewall did not recognized the new bf2.exe.
Work fine now

mine crashed before it even loaded. I found the problem was my xp desktop background. I used the default windows xp background. reinstalled vanilla, 1.3, then 1.4 incremental and it worked. For kicks I changed my desktop background back to where I had it..and ya the game wouldn't even start again. I did it all again and it's working fine now.
