Does it get any better than more than 2 GB of memory?

Has anyone ran BF2 on 2 GB then installed more ram? Was there a noticeable difference?

I am currently running 2 GB and thinking of more.

Hey to answer your question, I once had a 4GBs of RAM no difference, i ddint buy the 4 GB my friend and i combined our computers together to see how it would turn out, no noticable difference. You can always try it and give your opinion.

I have 3 gigs. I went up from one. The maps load alot faster. SLI and the ram together have greatly improved gameplay.

Windows XP 32bit only recognize 3GB of ram. If you put in a 4th, it will not recognize it and it will more than likely not utilize it. Some say it does, I fail to see a difference visually or in terms of speed on non-game apps. It does support 4GB, but then you might run into stability issues. The game will likely not run any better with 3 than it will with 2. After a 7900GT and a couple GB of ram, the game itself will not look any better or perform any better than it was ever designed to, no matter what kind of hardware you are using. Look what happens with dual core processors, you have to shut one down just to be able to play BF2, the software was written to utilize dual core, neither is 2142 or most of the games coming out 1st Q of 07.

Odd when i tryed running off one core 0 or 1 the game ran like crap on my Amd 64x2 3800. The game used to have be abit glitchy till i installed AMD duel core optimizer and now it runs well . Just wonder why some have problems and others dont ?

not heard of the rumours for the AMD & ATi 4x4? personally id make it a Intel & ATi

im using 3gb ram and actually did some timings last night, 1min 20secs to load, 20secs more for verifying the client data, thats just normal load times didnt bother clearing the caches and stuff,, did previously have 1gb and took far longer could have made a cup of coffee in the time the map actually loaded

I have 3 gig and I upgraded from 1...if I were to do it all over I'd save the money and go 2x1gig dual channel but oh well. System loads REALLY fast and games run flawless and fast, no complaints.

You should have enough ram to run the game and the system whilst leaving enough spare to prevent Windows thinking 'swap file time, just in case'.
I dont think, unless your mad, that anyone would have enough things running whilst playing BF2 to use up 2gb, however if they did they did they would notice an improvment with 3gb.

I think Vista will be able to recognize 64gb of ram. I was doing a little research yesterday and found that on one website so I wouldn't say it is for sure.
