How to have more than 4 lines of chat?

Okay so I just started playing this game. I hate so much how the lines of text in game for team kills / chat / your kills have only 4 lines. How are you suppose to ever type anything back to people on your team if there are only 4 lines of chat? Like I'm playing on these big 64 players servers where you have dozens of people on your team spouting out "enemy sighted" or "sniper!" or "medic" all the time. I try to type something to my team and then all the sudden whatever I typed is scrolled off the page before anyone can read it simply because 4 people on my team cried out "medic!"!!

Is there ANY WAY to change the fonts so it uses more lines? I did find the threads talking about adjusting the localization files to change the font sizes/colors, which is nice, but its getting more lines of texts that I want.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think it would be cool to do this as well, but I doubt it can be done without modifying game files and then PB might come after you. Anyone know if it's possible?

I think its completely retarded that a game developer can put so much time in to making a good fun game but then overlook things like this. Its just complete stupidity. Like I seriously wonder if the developers ever actually played the game and tried typing things to their teammates and then realized that their text got pushed off the screen too fast cause of all the radio chatter.

This is the least of anyone's problems. Wait another month or so of playing bf2, then come back and report how many problems you encounter.

I doubt it can be done without modding files that PB looks at.

Am i the only one that plays almost completely without bugs (just some stupid little things, nothing serious), i even play it on an old laptop with 512mb RAM (crappy graphics suck); but the topicstarter has a very good point.

I would not mind more lines of chat, if, you were able to not have requests or spots when the spammer is on the other side of the map, should be a check box. It would suck though if you were an engineer and someone requested something and you would not get the call to drive someplace because it was out of the request range.

I would think it would be even more annoying. All kinds of red and blue spam clogging up the upper left corner. Yuck! Reminds me of Counter Strike where some servers would have more "lightshow" rather than actual screen. That is why you have the minimap, UAV, and a commander.

Spots and text should be seperate somehow, but that would make too much clutter. I like it like it is now tbh. Type with smaller sentences, and dont waste your time hitting space a thousand times to put it in the center.
