I've gotten 5 by memory, it could be as high as 8.

And it doesn't mean you suck.

If you squad lead a lot, and do it effectively. Not rush in front of everyone and expect people to revive you as you get cut down, but hang back and only engage the enemy where and when needed, your stats take a beating. You'll get PH's then.

If you hang in with a team that's getting the snot kicked out of it, and do you best to make the other team work for their eventual win, you'll get PH's.

If you play the Karkand Hotel to Square cluster **** every night, you don't want a PH. But if you play BF2 in other ways, it just means you trying to acheive something that takes more deaths then kills to be successful.

If you play on servers that allow UCB attacking you can easily get one trying to get on the island at Wake. It can take multiple attempts if the oppostion has good pilots (chopper and jet). If you get a PH but got the first spawn on the Island, does that mean you suck? Not in my book. Even if the don't allow attacking the carrier you can get on in that scenario.

Try going SpecOps in some of these servers that only allow you to approach on foot, and only fire when fired upon. You'll get some PH's trying to take assets out.

A big time positive KD every round doesn't mean squat. Not in my book anyway. So you get a few PHs now and then. It doesn't mean you suck and it doesn't even mean you sucked that round.

I have worked hard not to get one, in all the rounds that I tried getting some stupid badge causing my K/D to go down, I never got a PH. And now, as I get higher in rank, it is so nice to not have one.

I think it would be better if it was not bugged...because all the people that only had "one" PH would not have to feel so bad because they figured out after that first time it was a bad thing.

When I see someone has a purple heart though, I normally look to see when they got it and when their account was created.

I work for a win, that is my only criteria. Even when things are hopeless.

If a badge is gotten in the process, then so be it. The only badge I've actually worked for was the basic pistol.

The other badges I've gotten, popup and are forgotten soon after. But the PHs always stick in my mind, because the conditions were probably just aweful.

How would you actually try and "work" for a PH? It's more an indication of that particular moment on that server.

Personally I think it shows you didn't give up. You may not have been able to avoid getting it because of many factors, but you didn't give up.

Whew! I know I have at least 6 PH's but only one showed, now I know why. I know when I have gotten them I am a medic or support and trying to always keep my team alive of supplied, which sometimes leads to high deaths when you run out in the middle of fire to revive someone.

I also seem to be the primary target for artillery. It seems anytime I hear the opposition artillery it ends up on my head. A lot of times this is because I'm trying to hold a position and the opposition commander wants me out of there and they don't have anyone else to artty.

I agree with disfigure, I play the game to help my team and I don't worry about the awards. I don't even know what I have to do to get any of them (other the the PH now).

I'm pretty sure I get killed a few more times than a lot of others because I have a somewhat slow connection. On the nights it is working fast I do very well. Unfortunately the best I can get in my area is high speed wireless at 800/400 kbs. Better than dial up.
