The real problem with BF2? From where I stand there is none.

My favorites list is filled with good servers with sub 70 pings and admins that give a damn. I regularly load up the game, join a squad, and cap flags. I call for vehicles and orders and I get them. CTD has not happened once since 1.4 and server crash/ disconnect has yet to happen either. I suppose my point is that I load up the game and have fun. So what am I missing here....do the forums send bad mojo waves into my game and make it stink? Meh, not that I can tell.

While this is merely my opinion on the matter and I'm sure the OP has a vastly greater understanding of BF2 and its community.

However, everything I have seen has let me to believe that all is gravy so I suggest we change the topic of this thread henceforth to Pie.

      I like pumpkin pie personally.:)

Re: The Real Problem with BF2

Forums are there to post whatever topics that holds your passion or idle curiosity - or simply to exchange viewpoints. The same way you might say: "If you dont like the game, dont play it" you might say: "If you dont like the forum, dont go and read there"

        - There are lots and lots of topics about other things than complaints about BF2
        - There are many of the threads about BF2s shortcomings taht are presented in a reasonable manner
        - There are in fact many objectionable problems with BF2

In short: dont be surprised if people voice their complaints about issues they find with the game. However, everyone is better off if these posts are presented in such a manner that they can inspire discussion, instead of just being a dumping-ground for your frustrations.

If everyone just "adapted" it would mean that everyone would just quietly accept this products issues. Its a rather naive social commentary to imagine that consumers will just quietly accept a flawed product.

For sure, DICE or EA do not sit and read every single post we make - but be assured of this: EA did not reach this market position by being ignorant about what their customers like and dislike. There is nothing "random" or accidental about their rise to prominence in this industry. They know perfectly well what an outspoken fraction of the player-community thinks and feels about things in BF2. If nobody spoke up or even "whined" they would have no clue. Its good for both the players and the developers that there are these forums - its a fast and easy way to get a feel for how what things are liked and disliked.

Sales will only tell them if people decided to buy the game or not - forums will tell them why they did so. Its whats called: "customer insight" in marketing speak and its of infinite value.

So keep voicing your opinions in the forums in whatever way you want - but remember this: the more structured and organized it is, the easier it will be for the people you are trying to impress, to understand what the issue is.

        Cheers :-)

Generally, these players are the most irritating.

Player 2 hates the game so much that they have actually stopped playing the game all together and now relies solely on the mods. However, they sill frequent the general bf2 forums and get their jollies off by bashing the game one way of another.

These players are the most pathetic.

Player 3 actually plays the game (defects and all) and learns to adapt. I believe that this category represents the silent majority of bf2 players. They realize that BF2 is a video game and that there are more important things to life then bitching about grenade spamming and unbalanced virtual jets. They have also learned the secret Zen like art of playing on servers with active admins.

These players are the most happy and definitely have the most fun.
