Keep getting this message when trying to connect to BF2: "The server has refused the connection". I can play single player mode, but cant connect or set up an internet account. Tried to use my information from my existing acct. but it wont connect either. Removed BF2 and reinstallled. Tried 1.4 full patch, didnt work. Then removed BF2 and reinstalled and used 1.3 patch then 1.3 - 1.4 incremental patch, still didnt work. Tried to update Punkbuster with PBSetup but cant do that cause I get this message: "Downloading a global config file failed for the following reason, couldnt connect to the internet". I have turned off the firewall on windows and checked to make sure that BF2 is allowed as an exception. There is nowhere that I can check to allow PB. Norton Internet security is not even turned on. I use a Linksys router. It is not wireless. I connect to the internet and get email fine. PLEASE HELP ME I HAVENT PLAYED BF2 IN 2 WEEKS. I live in Indy and will pay someone to come and fix it. Should I call the Geek Squad? Any help will be appreciated!

Firewall is blocking your apps
beh just read u turn it off, mm maybe you have a router? they have inbuild physical firewalls -

the routers firewall shouldnt block PB even if there has been no configuring, Windows firewall should have a popup asking to allow PBsetup.exe to connect to the internet, try activating windows firewall again and check its exceptions list to see if pbsetup is there if it isnt you can add it manually,Comment

Jibby, I am having the same problem.....I am running TinyXp BE which doesnt have Windows Firewall, I am running ZoneAlarm as my firewall...with firewall off I still get the same damn problem with bf2 patched at 1.3, 1.4, and with PunkBuster! Can anyone help?Comment
