      Re: connection problem

Some servers have the ability to kick a player via PB in the console by another player. PB has a FAQ page on this. I have not been able to determine if it is possible to simply remove a player from within a BF2 or other PB server simply by typing one command and player number.

Thank God I'm not the only one. I've had it before and after 1.4

Got a new cable modem the other day (per Revolutions advice) and it still does it.

It's deffintiy not punkbuster, I had problems with that before and I know it's not it. Also the exact problem is that everything loads, and once its done loading it will come to the screen that just the picture of the map that you are playing on (not the kit selection or the map) and then it will bring you back to the server list and say "You have been disconected from the server" or something close to those lines. This has happened to me after i installed the 1.3 patch. When I was playing without any of the patches though I was able to get into the game. This is still continuing after I downloaded the 1.4 patch.

That isn't going to slove anything because I don't have a dual core and I have the problem.

My Kaspersky firewall keeps coming up with a DDos attack warning when I try to update the servers and such. Could this type of thing be the reason we can't get get into multiplayer? Granted if you don't run a firewall or have a free one, the message may not appear but the results are the same, no connection.

                          It's a 1.4 problem.

I can't even play the game now due to this. It worked fine for the first few weeks of 1.4, but now it's just happening constantly. All i get is the message "You have lost connection to the server" or something to that effect.

It's pathetic. And i know it is a newly introduced bug/problem with 1.4. because i didn't have this problem at all with any previous patches.
                          You're right.
My case is exactly the same, I was running fine for the first week or so of 1.4 and then all of a sudden the "you have lost connection" messages were coming non-stop.

I actually put in a service call to my cable company and had them come out and do a thorough inspection of my modem and line quality, everything was top-notch.

Even a full system format/OS re install (with no applications and only essential drivers installed) would produce the same results.

The problem is BF2 specific (no other games lose connection) and it DID start a week or so after 1.4 was released (I've even tried patching from multiple sources).

As of tonight, it has gotten a little better.
An hour session only gave me two connection breaks, whereas before, I was getting them every 5 minutes.

And as for the dual core thing, I run a dual core and have for the better part of the year, there is no need to disable anything or install any drivers unless you use AMD cool & quiet.

Well, I formatted yesterday and my current uptime is something like 6 hours.
In that time, all I have done on this pc (aside from installing drivers and web browsing) is play bf2 for around 3 hours total.

In that short time I am showing over 150 attacks.
I don't think I've ever had 150 attacks on a system in the span of 6 months, let alone 6 hours.

Ok, I think we are talking about two different problems here..... one is that sometimes you can accually get into the game, but then you get kick and it says "your connection to the server has been lost. The other problem is you entirely can't get into the game and when everything loads it says "You have been disconnected from the server" I'm haveing the disconected from server problem... and I know that the freewall isn't a problem also because I disabled Norton freewall, and the Windows firewall, so it's not the freewall.
