Battlefield 2 is more fun with Voice Chat.

I just recently joined my first clan since being a part of BF2. They're not organized in the least, but damn they're fun to play with and against.

Voice chat just brings an element to the game that playing by yourself all by your lonesome can never replace.

If you find BF2 getting stale, I suggest joining a clan/guild with Ventrillo or Teamspeak. :)

I agree 100%. I've been playing Bf2 since it came out and have never used vice chat. Recently though I joined a clan that are more info the fun side of things than taking it too seriously. They have a Teamspeak server and it's infinitely more fun being able to chat with them while playing, it adds a whole new dimension to the game.

To anyone who is not using vice chat, I really recommend you give it a go, it adds a heck of a lot to the game.

See for me, there's a problem with that. I've played with voice before and yeah, it was great, and there's tons of times that I wish I didn't have to stop moving in order to tell my teammates what's up (and half the time people are too busy to read anyway), but I don't do voip because

1) I have $200 worth of sound equipment (soundcard and speakers) for a reason. I want to hear the game! Then the other end of the spectrum is when I have to turn my computer down because people are sleeping, then I can't hear what's being said to me.

2) I hate wearing the mic, or leaning towards the mic, and talking to my computer in general.

3) The quality is usually crap, incoming and outgoing.

I've come to the conclusion that for me, it's just too much of a pain in the arse. It is cool when it works though.

Hey Jofaba, I use a Logitech headset with a mic included. You hear everything and some. You won't disturb the rest of the house unless you are yelling at some tool. I hear more this way than with the speakers on. Been playing with friends and voice chat since I got the game. Only just joined a clan with teamspeak and now have even more people to play with. Comunication with the team is the most enjoyable way to play. Don't have time to type messages in game let alone read any.

I play games based off of what the guys are playing that night as opposed to looking to play a specific game. I'd rather jump in the FEAR channel, PartyPoker, or even something like ISketch before I'd jump into a CS:S channel alone.....voice chat, being able to work as a team and talk some smack to one another is what drives clans and makes games 100X more fun.

For me, its actually translated to meeting several of our guys in RL, and even taking a job offer and relocating from FL to NYC this year - all over gaming :)

to us, the game is 10000000000000000000000000000000000 times more fun
with ventrilo
the laughing, joking, telling stories, setting up tactics
no comparison vs without it
maybe once a week - off to a different server and a little lone wolf time
(well- I still join a squad - but no voice comms to enjoy the pure solitude of killing)

but anyway - for those that have not tried it

DO IT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

many clans with free TS or Ventrilo
you will be shocked at how much more you enjoy the game

Amen. The game is 10x better when you're using teamwork with a group of people you're used to playing with and the in-game VoIP is horrible compared to Teamspeak + Teamspeak Overlay.

my problem is finding servers with squads that actually use VOIP. It's rare to find them. I think people have the mics but just don't use them for some reason. You would think a full squad of 6 would be planning every move over VOIP.

I've found that most guys have them, but don't use them. Next time you joing a squad, tell everyone "hey" and you'll ususally get several responses back - but then nobody communicates. If you make the effort though, many guys will start talking.

I agree, the squads I've been in that really communicate make the game much more fun and, on top of that, you generally kick *** because of it.
