I got a new laptop and on bestbuy.com it says that the graphics goes to 128mb but it's only at 64mb. I added another 512 system ram total a gig but i still can't figure out how to get the vid ram to 128. I tried in the bios and it doesn't let you select the vid ram to change it. Can anyone help?

you cant force a video card to have more ram that it had installed
it may go to 128 but how much was installed if your talking vga aperature size look for that -

Its the ati xpress 200m so it uses system ram but it has a specific amount of the system ram set for its use only.Comment

Laptops are weird, most of them have power settings to use the minimum to conserve sytem battery...look in your power settings to see if you can change any settings for while it's plugged in as I believe default is to conserve power.

Best buy may have been pulling your leg. Whats the model number of the laptop? FYI I dont think changing the amount of Video RAm is going to make a lick of difference for that card.Comment

Most laptops allow for some sort of expansion - they usually have 2 DIMM slots, the location can differ depending on the model. From experience, theyre usually on the bottom.Comment
