shot out of pilots seat with a PKM?

today i was playing on kubra dam in the cobra. i went to repair on the lower dam heli pad and there was people on mec waiting for the chopper to spawn but before a could kill then one guy shot me out of my pilot seat with a PKM WTF. i never knew you could do that? has anyone had this done to them??

mmm yea could of been. unless you can do it at some angle but he was quite far away aswell so.

happened to me in 1.3....hovered over a flag to drop a guy off and got a single shot from pkm...helo dropped and killed the gunner that hadnt got out yet. owned in a big way...lol

Maybe it wasn't the guy with the PKM. Perhaps a sniper nailed you from further away and you just thought it was the PKM.

FHM mad max's screenshots clearly shows he was killed by a PKM and I think everyone probably knows how to read what weapon killed you in the upper left-hand corner.

My guess would be there is a some way to do it with just about any weapon. I've been shot out by a tank or an apc while flying and the chopper didn't explode...I was just somehow killed. The pilot flew back to the pad, I respawned and got back in. I never thought much of it because of all the bugs and stuff in this game.

explosive ordnance will go through the glass (Eryx, APC/Tank shells, Helo rockets), and then you have the M95. And now, this whole PKM thing is either true, or there was a server problem where it reported the weapon wrong. We've all seen this happen at one time or another.

i was hovering about 20 +/- feet above flag and got killed....the helo dropped like a rock. you can see the guy coming out from behind the red containers...behind us and to the right of helo. i have spent alot of time in helo and sniping at helo pilots and i think there is a glitch at the underbelly of the helo that kills the pilot. i just havent figured out where exacly it is. i remeber saying to myself...**** i got sniped, thats what i get for trying to cap flag with attack helo....then i see pkm...??lol

A PKM can take out a chopper in about 3 seconds:

Damage = 45
Magazine size = 100
Rounds per Minute = 450

Rounds Per Second = 7.5
Damage Per Second = 45*7.5 = 337.5


Hitpoints of Apache = 875


875/337.5 = 2.59259....

Round up to 3 seconds accounting for overheating
