Serious connection problems, can't play bf2 anymore...

I have a serious problem and i have no idea to how to fix this problem.

I can't play for more the 2 minutes with out "your connection to the server has bee lost".

Other online games work fine and my cable connection is fine i'm downloading at fast speeds and all but i keep getting disonnected in bf2 i simply cannot play the game i payed money for.

I've tried a few things people said might help like re-installing, turning off firewall settings and anti-virus programs and nothing has worked someone help because i cant even play the game right now.:cry:

Please Update your punkbuster with the easy to use PunkBuster updater.

PB Website:
Here is Pbsetup.exe which will update PB on any PB equipped game.

http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/windows/pbsetup.exe

Put the Pbsetup.exe into it's very own folder.
Then run it and select BF2 in the Selection Menu .
Then Click Update.

Once your done.
Go Test Single and Multiplayer. ( Both )

Let me know if both Single\Multi work.

you may also want to try resetting the modem and router if installed

just unplug both for about 30 seconds

plus in modem wait for green lights then do same for router

Nope didnt work updates punkbuster and just got diconnected again... hmm i recently formatted just after 1.4 was released so my comp is tip top... i think ill reset the modem although i did do it once already ill give it a shot cause im really qworried i wont be able to play desert conflict which ive been awaiting for a while... ill post back if i make any progress thatnsk for the help guys.

Did you click ADD GAME : BF2
then click update?

There might be PB update and then there is 2nd update,
Your ADD GAME : BF2 get update

Let me know if you added game BF2 then clicked update

Make sure you exit BF2 fully. then reload it.

Also ,do you have .NET Framework 1.1 atleast?
Microsoft .NET framework 1.1
it will say in add remove programs list.

... Does the Warning say anything else anywhere on the screen??

Update: Resetted modem but didnt fix the problem..

Yes i added bf2 and updated it and reloaded bf2 problem is still there... and nope i dont have microsoft.net framework shoudl i get it? will it help?

Yes please fetch and install .NET Framework 1.1 and Reboot Then Test.

Also delete your
*Temporary Internet Files,
*Temp
*Cookies
*History
(Folder Contents Only) "inside these folders delete everything"
Located in your
C:\Documents and Settings\your admin name\Local Settings

Let me know results.
Dont forget to reboot after .net framework 1.1 install

I'm downloading the program now.. when done what do i do with it?

Nope cleared history and other files, installed >NET frameworks rebooted started up bf2 joined a servers and got disconnected after 5 mins... btw i have no problem playing singleplayer. And i recently reformatted.

Hi Guys, Im also having the exact same problem .... had it for a while and seems alot of other people are getting it, I typed "connection problemd bf3" into google and there are a ton a forum links regarding this very problem ...

as soon as you verify client data ... it pretty much lets me go as far as the kit selection screen, Then it reverts back to the Server screen prompting " your connection has been lost to the server"

Its sucks, as i payed money for this that I EARNED!

I tried the same as maverick, even deleted all the patches and downloaded them again and installed .... NOTHING ... Still get it, If im lucky I might get an hours play sometimes ...

check the firewall to make sure bf2 is cleared for it the windows firewall

if u have a router make sure the ports are open for it search the forums for the ports

if running virus scanner turn it off especially nortons just remember to turn it back on when done playing

check for spyware and addware as they could be interupting the internet connection

spybot seach and destroy is very good and adaware too

check the task manager see what programs are running google any odd looking ones to see if it is supposed to be running

Windows Firewall only stops inbound traffic , not outbound and if BF2 is connecting to the account server then it is already authorised if using a 3rd party firewall such as Norton or Zonealarm.

There is no need to open any ports in your router to play BF2 unless you are running a server on a local machine which you wish to be made available on-line.

Are you positive that you used pbsetup.exe instructions?

If the game works single player.
You don't need to re-install or delete anything. ( or format )

Your punk buster version is out of date or the server your playing on
has an outdated version of PB for Battlefield 2 Server .

Both you and server, should be using PBSetup.exe to be sure your patch installs correctly.

Also BF2 should be on the Primary drive.
C:\program files\Ea Games\Battlefield 2\

Not on the D drive. ( for performance but PB should still work either way.)

Let me know if you used PbSetup.exe to update your PB or not.

Let me know what version PBSetup.exe gives you
after you select BF2 from ADD GAME and click Update.

Same or different?

If its the same, Then go join a non PB server and see if you can play with your PB option Unchecked at the bottom middle of BF2 menu.

If you can play multi player with no pb... (non pb server)
while your pb is disabled at bottom of BF2 screen.

Then its for sure only a pb issue.

Are you using No_Cd thing? If so. You cannot.
