    1.4 patch problem....

thought i'd post here rather than starting new thread.....

bought my son bf2 delux edition(bf2+special forces on one disc)it was upto date with patch's b4 the release of 1.4(disc already had been updated)so i didnt need to do anything.

The problem is now that i try to install 1.4(full)(have tried incr' aswell) and i get an error reading : Can't find installer folder for bf2.

    can anyone help........thanks.
have tried looking elsewhere but no luck.

Are you running a couple of hard drives or partitions? It helps if the patch is located in the same partition or hard drive as the installed game. That and what version patch was included with your retail copy as you may need to download an incremental patch instead.

        First, Try this.

Place the patch in your desktop and run it from there. If that still don't work, then you are having registry problems. This is how you fix it:

1.Go To Start > Run > Type "regedit" (without quotes)

        2. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2

        3. Then right click on the right hand window and go on NEW string value, then enter InstallDir for the string name and for the value enter D:\GAMES\Battlefield 2

(or whatever your BF2 Path is)
        try this

Perfect! That worked for me a dream, I even had to make the actual battlefield 2 key, and it worked! Thank you, gents. :)
