We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Yes, you have to modify the .desc file for each map and edit the line that points to the .ogg music file. Simply change the file or path name in any way (e.g. by using Notepad) so that it breaks the path to the actual music file.

I don't think you can refer to custom .ogg files on your HDD. You'd have to embed your custom .ogg file into the BF2 archive files and I THINK PunkBuster would take issue with that

So what were you referring to before? :p
I want to play another loading music instead of that annoying tititrititiiitirti ..

Can someone list the steps for all this?
(How do I convert a mp3 file to a ogg?, Whats the limit of the file, etc...)
I don't think there's a limit for the file .. simply if you modify the common_client.zip file with your new songs, PB will kick you for modified contents so ..
Changing the entry simply breaks the link and it doesn't play anything (and I prefer silence after a year of listening to the same music over and over) so that I can hear my VOIP buddies between map changes.
Using custom music files sounds pretty benign but I doubt it can be done. I've never tried it but you can certainly play around with it on your own..but don't be surprised when PB kicks you.
oh..and to the guy asking...I hear SILENCE between map loads if you haven't figured that out already
'Why do this instead of turning the music volume down' you ask?
Well..it's because when you launch BF2 using an external application like ASE or Qtracker, the music STILL plays even when music volume is at ZERO...except when using this method.

LoL!
You don't need to do this work to put silence during the loading .. just go into the audio options and bring to 0% the music's volume ^^
EDIT: Yea .. but I don't use ASE or Qtracker and when the few times that I do that, I like the music :p (it happens only once or twice in a month)
