Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I'm not quite sure how the point system works while you're commander.
I used to think it had to do with how many kills dropping artillery, and how many re-supply with supply drops. This doesnt seem to be the case.
You can sit and examine your keyboard doing nothing.
The scores of each of your team is collected and averaged. That is the score you will get TIMES TWO MINUS Teamkills, Damage etc....
Artillery goes into your kit and some items. If you got 24 kills sitting on the airdefense with the artillery PRESTO! Expert Airdefense. Your Kit counts up global kills on artillery as well.
Commander is protected from teamkills by arty.
But idiot Meekrats charging into the bright red icon arty and dying does not protect you from ill-will and muntiny attempts for being a bad commander.
If they see you fighting or killing anyone, you are a bad commander.
If they see you move you are a bad commander.
They dont want to see you or hear you spam or type anything.
Commanders are further nerfted in mods and similar games.
Commander does earn resupply, repair, heal and revive points that dont show up in the game screen or get counted. You will get the awards due you when the citeria is met.
If you shoot someone and kill, that is points. They add that onto your commander's final score.
With that in mind...
Less arty is good. Making your team go out and kill everyone the hard way gets everyone bigger points.
Less heli circle-strafing. Deploying a UAV over a juicy enemy base packed with enemies attracting heli-whores like flies to honey steals tickets and points needed to boost your average score and everyone else's score.
Deploying UAV in enemy traffic areas provides early warning that a tank or armor etc is coming to the current battle. The helis can respond there.
Supply drops might or might not add to your score but they take away from your engineers trying to fix your stuff and feed enemy spec ops for more boom time.
Commanders do get time credit, that is why you see many commanders whoring transport, ground defense etc....
take all the people on your team then add up all there points. then divide it by the number of people on the team. what i like to do is if im about to kill some people trying to cap a flag as commander ill resing then blow my c4 at the flag get 6 points then reaply to be. If you win that will be 12 points due to it doubling if you win.
but dont do that if osmeone issues a mutiny vote tbecause then you can not apply to be commander for 5 mins
You know, I question that theory of "average team score"
There have been plenty of times that I have scored over 200 points as commander. So, say I score 220 as commander of the winning team, and my final score shows something like 220 0 0 0 (no team score, no kills no deaths). Just sat in a bldg hiding all game and used UAV, SCANS, ARTY and supply drops all game long. Told team where to go, etc etc, go the win.
Now, by the "average" theory, you are saying that the average team score is 110? Now, for a 110 average score, that would mean that some people would have to have more than that, some people less. I'll tell you this, I very rarely see team scores more than 50.
It CAN'T be the "AVERAGE" team score. Mathematically, it just doesn't make sense. It has to be something else.
I will tell you this, I have watched my commander score go up in the game by 2 points when a soldier caps a flag. This was when we had 8 people on our side, all other players were dead, and that one live soldier capped a flag. So, no supply packs were used, no med kits were used. Nothing. Just a flag capture. But my commander score when up by 2 when he capped it. By the "average" theory, my commander score would have gone up by .25.
So, it has to be something else that determines commander score.
The commander score is the sum of all commander points earned. The commander points are every point earned by a member of your team during your reign as commander divided by the total of living team members at the given time.
Kills with artillery will count towards you global kills and kills with the kit you are using but do not directly add points to your score.
After each round has finished the commander of the winning side will have his points for that round doubled.
Lets say you have 20 on your team. If 10 are alive at the moment that 20 points are earned, then you earned 2 points (20/10). If those same 10 guys racked up a few TK's, it would NOT effect your score.
Its an average based off of # of players alive during the moment a point is EARNED. Negative points don't effect your score as the average is from points earned, not their final scores. A CO shouldn't suffer from some nade spamming nub that's tk'ing all over the place. This has been debated forever..
As commander, do everything you can to help your team kill and take flags without killing anybody yourself or taking flags yourself. Use arty sparingly. Spotting and UAV are your best tools. The only time a commander should be moving and fighting is if no one wanted to command and you need UAV/Supply, etc.
Arty the lone guy who just turned a flag neutral and your guys can't get there in time, or the sniper who is too far from battle to send a troop up to get him. Use it to force the enemy to move in certain directions so your guys can mop up.
Dropping arty on a pack of 30 guys racking up 30 arty kills only hurts your command score.
Here are some advanced command concepts to ponder:
If your side completely butchers the other side, your reward is only the x2 win. So if you win with a final score of 245 to 0 or 2 to 0, you still get the same reward BUT IN MOST CASES you get many more points on the 2 to 0 score. Why? Because that means more tickets were used. Each of those tickets can be thought of as either a life, or your side getting a kill. The longer the game goes on, the more killing there will be and as will follow, more points awarded to your guys and therefore to you as commander.
Supply Crates can cost you points. If you have a supply crate and no one asks for it, think x2 about dropping it. Each time a person uses a supply crate as opposed to a Medic, Engineer or Support person that means that those people are not getting the 1 point for Heal/Repair/Supply and if they don't get their point, you don't get yours. Why would you ever drop a supply crate then? To win the damn game and to support your troops. You want to support them but you do NOT want to keep them from supporting each other.
Artillery can cost you points. For every enemy you kill, that is a ticket the other guys lose off of the big score board. That means you are one kill closer to the end of the game and YOU DON'T GET POINTS FOR THEM. If your guys kill those people/tickets, you do. So why would you ever use artillery? Again, to win the damn game and support your troops. Protect flags, soften the enemy up and allow your boys a fighting chance to make a beachhead somewhere. What you do NOT do is start butchering the enemy at their last spawn with artillery as this will only server to totally shorten the game and also you are just being a bully and stealing points from your own guys. Again, use the artillery to protect and support. Do not use it if it is not necessary as it will only serve to shorten the game that you know for a fact you are already going to win. Let the ground pounders slug it out and give them UAV. Stop general supply drops unless you see a blatant need for them or someone asks.
Finally, what perks does command then have? A couple of loopholes in the EA award system that I don't understand but think they could have easily blocked them and chose not to. A few people consider this the cheap way out, and others don't care. Some will call it stat padding but I will explain at the end why I disagree. We've been talking about command points above. A Commander gets no Team Points or Combat Points (the other two kinds of points from command that show up on the Global Points system and allow you to go up in rank) but you still get statistical award points that allow you to earn Badges, Ribbons and Awards. What this means is although you get no Combat Points for the knife kill you made, you still get a statistical knife kill. If you got seven of them in a round, you would be awarded your Basic Knife Badge (if you didn't already have it). If you kill an enemy trooper near a flag? You get attributed a defense point for your Valorous Service Award. If you repair your damaged assets? You do get repair points to your Meritorious Service Award. If you need your Basic Sniper Combat Badge and you kill ten enemy with artillery (eleven for the SF Badge), you will be awarded your Basic Sniper Badge. If you sit at a Machine Gun or TOW emplacement and kill ten enemies with artillery (and you already have your Basic Ground Defense Badge) you will be awarded your Veteran Ground Defense Badge. As to why I don't feel EA considers this stat padding is as follows. Certain badges and Ribbons cannot be so easily achieved as commander. The Armor Ribbons and the Knife Badges and so forth all state something like "X amount of kills WITH a ____" so you don't get your armor ribbon if you are sitting in a tank and doing all your killing with artillery. You also don't get your knife badge by holding the knife while you are killing with artillery. So EA has blocked certain awards from being achievable by the Command Perk method. In the end, it is your decision to make as to whether or not you will do this. Some servers have very strict rules in place for Command personnel to follow so be sure to read the rules and abide by whatever the server you are on states, or find another server to play on.
I would like to point out a few things I did not easily find out, but think them important so will share them here.
The commander has the ability to right click spot an enemy. Even if the commander doesn't know exactly where the enemy is, a couple of right click spots in an area will either reveal the enemy OR question marks. The question marks mean that there is no one within a small area around it. When a commander spots an enemy, the spot comes up on everyone’s radar and large map UNLESS the dot is a hazy dot. That means that after a commander does a single pass scan of an entire area (satellite scan) he sees troop movements and every enemy position but all of his men don't. EA possibly wanted it that way so that the commander had to direct or take an active communications stance with his troops. Most commanders immediately start right click spotting all these enemy agents BUT on the commanders own scope, these hazy dots DO NOT go solid. If they do not go solid, then the troops WILL NOT see it on their radars. They will hear you calling out spots, but will not see this. As commander, you have to wait for the haze to go away before you can use the spot method. Also as a side note, sooner or later you will right click spot on someone and it will be a WHITE dot. This will be the enemy commander. Always make sure you let your boys know this. Harassment and death will take the enemy commanders mind off supporting his troops.
I hope this is enlightening. I am open to debate on any subject in here and corrections as well. My desire is not to put out any misinformation, but nothing is 100% when you do most of the proof research alone.

That little right click "Spot" an enemy on the command map when zoomed in can reveal enemies hidden. I kept that little secret just for me.
Now there will be hundreds of fledging commanders right clicking empty areas on the map trying to "Pop up" enemies that are not seen.
