    Delay from Prone to Crouch?

    Hi,

I seen in the list of changes for 1.4 but why did they introduce a delay from prone to crouch? This effects gameplay so much! The delay SHOULD have been the time it takes you to draw ur weapon not the actual movment. I was under the understanding that the delay would be the time it takes to fire ur weapon from Standing, Crouch to Prone for all the support noobs out there.

Now if your e.g. a Sniper and ur behind a sandbag or small wall you cant pop ur head up to fire at another sniper and quickly duck down into prone again otherwise ur a deadman. The same goes for all other kits. The prone to crouch movment was spot on! It could be utilized by all people playing the game therefore it wasnt an advantage.

Now has this been introduced because of Prone spamming? And people using macros to do fasts movements while underfire? But why add that stupid "joggin on the spot" delay to get from a prone to crouch position to it! Argh! All u needed to do was Simply add a timer to draw ur weapon and fire! Atleast then ur movement was still fluid.

It dont make no sence whatsoever! On the other hand the rest of the patch seems awesome. The new map jalalabad is wicked and i seee a fair amount of bugs fixed. Well done on that part!

You hit the nail on the head with this part right here. All it takes is a few people that exploit the game to ruin it for the rest of the players out there.

Too many people complaining about being killed in a war game, go figure.

They got only 1/2 right. There should have been a standing to prone penalty as well to stop the diving oneshot kills.

I think they are attempting to make the game more realistic, in real life you wouldnt dive to the floor as fast as you do in bf2 before 1.4, because youd simply smash your face and entire body into the ground, you would infact go slower to the ground like EA have tried to achieve, and i think they achieved it judging by comments.

They should of left the game alone.

Not when you are under fire you don't. You hit the deck as hard as you can. We got tought to hit it on our side though, and we aren't able to shoot instant headshots at 50m, like they can in BF2.

yeah i agree with that, but again its like i said in the other topic, its like a crack in the wall EA/Dice just try and cover it up with a new patch its always gunna be there.

Re: Delay from Prone to Crouch?

yep the game has gotten more and more buggy.

yet there is no way to justify making a arcade/SIM military game and allowing people to hop on there belly's.

A person insta dropping to prone, not a big deal to deal with..yet with the ease of it and the bonus from it does in some way make gun fights cookie cutter...best way to deal with this is dealy in ability to shoot after proning.
Then in turn make rising to ones feet tak an extra second depending on class weight.

TOUCHING CROUCH HAS REALLY SCREWED ME UP THO!!! no more using boxes and such as cover and poping up and firing...so I can land on belly and shoot on point...yet I cant go from my knee to my feet and still have a cross hairs?? WTF?

Jumping and being able to shoot, whats so unreal about it..sure there should be a huge accuracy penalty but still its possible. The only real downside thsi brough tis people figured out you could GL at ya feet and hop away unhurt 90% of the time.

Lets be honest the biggest problem is subtle flaws in the player movement mechanics.
Im 100% sure EA/DICE had no intentions of making a game were people hop aroudn on there bellys and shoot GL at there feet..but thats what happened and what still sorta happens today.

Its not what they want to fix..its the way they go about doing it.
They always seem to do it a$$ backwards. So many simple fixes to so many problems that plague the game, yet the fixes hardly ever work or make new problems.
                  Take for instance C4.
Chuckign C4 was way to much of a exploit..lets be honest, frisbee explosives??!! So now C4 is a 2 ton brick and has reduced the popularity and usefulness of a whole class..
Quick and easy fix...make it throwable..yet put a delay on time it takes to throw and detonate. Maybe reduce the throwing distance, but what they have done has raped the class almost completely.
