nVidia driver survey/question

Hi all

Just wondering how many are using the 91.47 Forceware drivers with BF2, without issues.

I seem to have some stuttering lately in BF2 and am wondering if going back to 84.21's might help, haven't played since before the 1.4 patch so not sure if this is a driver issue or related to the new patch? Tryed to research this and didn't see it answered.

Would be helpful to include your system specs.

Any input is welcome.

I'm running a 6600GT with 91.31's, and it's lagging like.. it's lagging. Same for 2142.

First of all thanks for the replys.


Went back to the 84.21's and it seems to have calmed down. Still i'm curious how many people can use the 91.47 driver without problems and what video setups they have. Might give a little insight into the problem or at least help others to avoid these problems.

I'm running the 91.47's on my 6800GS. I was weary of the 91.xx series due to poor performance I used to have. So I stuck with the 84.21's because they are rock solid. Upgraded to the 91.47's and it's pretty much the same. No stuttering at all.

I'm using the 91.47 drivers and I do get some stuttering on certain maps.
All my settings are at HIGH apart from lighting which I leave at medium for indoor situations.
I have an oc'd 7800GT from XFX on an ASUS P5LD Deluxe with P4D 3.6 and 2Gig ram. C drive is a raptor.
I only put this driver on AFTER installing the 1.4 patch btw.

I have found the 9X.XX series to have some problems...I'm going to revert back to 84.21.

i was running a old driver that started with a 7. after the patch i got really bad lag and a huge fps drop.. i went to the 91.47 and it's better. but it doesn't run like it did before the 1.4 patch. it still feels a little laggy to me.

i've got a 6800gt 256 meg
amd64 3800
2 gigs of ram

I have found the 9X.XX series to have some problems...I'm going to revert back to 84.21.

I lost about 3 FPS in CS:S stress with the 91.47 also. Haven't had a stutter yet, since the 84.21's "Touchs wood".

I thought i'd put this out here so people could get an idea what hardware is working with what drivers etc. Hopefully if enough data gets put in here it will help.

Most of the posts i read dont include enough data about systems to be very useful, what i mean is somebody will say it's fine for them but dont include their spec's. Hopefully this will gather enough information for a data base of what works.

Yea I'm weary of the 90 series and won't mess with them for awhile. I changed drivers for months until I finally found my match in the 84.25 FW's. I definately recommend them, especially with a 6800GS.

Xtreme-G 81.95v2. The best drivers I have tried. Imho all newer drivers have worse image quality. I have a 7800GT.

So far its looking like the 8X.XX nVidia drivers are running better for most.

I'm using the 91.47 without any problems or lag.

Here is my system:
Sysprofile

I had massive problems with the older 8x.xx ForceWare driver.
Specially the SLI mode was buggy.
With the new driver I got an advantage of 300 points in 3DMark2006.
