Missile Lock-On Tone Hack?

earlier today i was getting in a bit of seat time in the different aircraft on the mec side on gulf of oman. all of a sudden i started to get nailed by the f35 (same pilot all the time) with no tone from my warning indicator. i thought at first maybe he hit me with guns and had the bomb site up, but when i really started to pay attention and hitting the f12 key i noticed he was not getting me with the guns but with the missiles. being that the f35 is single seat it is not like he could have had the bomber use a laser guided missile one me.

i have some time online and buddies and i often start are own server up and practice. i have done the maneuver where you go with the bomb site up, get behind the enemy when he is going back to re-arm, switch to missiles quick and shoot, but the enemy gets a tone that somebody is locking on to them. i was not getting any tone.

this happend only on one map as i jumped on another after i almost earned a purple heart and had tone fine on the other map.

has anybody else experienced this?

There was a couple threads months ago about this same thing. Someone even posted a video if I recall.

do you remember the outcome? was it some hack or some extreme flying?

To get a lock is about 1.0 - 1.5 seconds if you have more ping than the other pilot the alarm sound late. Every time a good pilot has less ping, he get lock very fast.

If he got more ping than you, then you will here the alamr first. Plus if you have the camera looking backwards alarm and afterburner dont work well.

i was getting gunned down by a guy while i was doing loops and it was pretty much a constant stream of damage while going around in circles unfortunatly no proof i.e. vid/screenie

If he got more ping than you, then you will here the alamr first. Plus if you have the camera looking backwards alarm and afterburner dont work well.

the alternative camera look was some of the last views before i changed the servers. as far as ping i thought of that and he actually had a higher ping than me, by ~20-30ms.

also, i was in a helo with a guy and he never heard the tone either and we both had lower pings than the guy shooting us down.

This was happening to me just last night, I was under the impression that he was aimed at me perfectly with the bombing crosshairs, switched real fast and shot. Who knows?

but i wasn't flying at all in a straight line nor was i doing a slow pass over a base to get re-armed, i was flying fast and banking hard in more than one instant then bam, dead, like my plane/helo had internal combustion

The MIG isnt hard to shoot down, its also a missle magnet like the F-35. There has been times I shot down a MIG with the first two missles, even after they turn.

i am not arguing the ease at which one is able to be shot down, but without the warning going off it seems something is off. my understanding of the game, and i have been playing it since it was a demo, was that if something had a lock on you the tone went off allowing you to try evasive action and drop flares. without the tone you have no idea that somebody has a lock on you thus you are just a sitting duck.

so is it a newly introduced bug or a hack?

I would sometimes get hit out of no where too, maybe another F35 was trying to hit a chopper and sometimes and the missles redirected towards you? This I have seen happend to me with no tone, and maybe the guy chasing you probably finished you off with cannon?

There are many things that could of happend, and I know its not a hack since it happend to me a few random times.

No u still get a tone even if its friendly missiles coming at you. I was at Kubra dam one time and I got shot down by our wing man, I was getting the long constant tone, so it was kind of too late to release flares.

Sometimes I don't get freandly fire or redirected missles till I am hit. Its a wierd bug but its not very common, and from all my hours, which is few compared to the bigger air whores out there, Ive had this very few times. Also like someone else said it could be lag, I try not to play in a server with lag.
