bf2142 replacing bf2

this is probably just rumor...but it was said that bf 2142 was created to replace bf2 because of all the patch problems.?is this true?

Well it leverages the BF2 engine, so that makes no sense at all. A completely new or major re-design of the engine would be a replacement. BF2.142 is an extension of what we play today.

not made up. just asking because they will add all new fixes from bf2 to add to bf 2142 so that bf2142 wont have as much problems and everyone will sooner or later play 2142 instead of bf2.
